Slots at Casoola: RTP, volatility and wagering

Slots are the biggest category in any casino, and bonus wagering usually happens on them. This page of casinocasoola.biz explains what matters when choosing a slot for bonus play: RTP, volatility, excluded titles and features that call for caution. The actual selection is in Casoola's lobby.

RTP: the long-run average

RTP (return to player) shows what share of stakes a game theoretically pays back over the long run. At 96 percent RTP, on average €4 of every €100 staked stays with the casino. That number is the basis of the expected cost of wagering: the higher the RTP, the cheaper it is to clear a requirement. Studios often offer several configurations, so check the value running at the casino in the game's info panel.

Volatility: how smooth the ride is

Volatility does not change the average, but it sets how much your balance swings. On extreme-volatility games wins come rarely but in large amounts; at medium volatility they are more frequent and smaller. With a bonus this is decisive: on an extreme-variance game the balance often runs out before you reach the end of wagering.

Contribution, excluded titles and the bet cap

Bonus terms usually count slots in full, but often exclude high-RTP titles or ones with special features. Illustrative example, not Casoola's terms: if the terms exclude games above 97 percent RTP, stakes there do not count and may even be treated as a breach. The bet cap applies per spin on slots, and a bonus buy can cost many times the cap. The full checklist is on the bonus terms page.

Jackpots and special formats

Some progressive jackpot slots are excluded from wagering, or a separate rule covers jackpot wins. Crash-style games – such as Chicken Train – are often treated as their own category. If you are unsure how a game is classified, ask support before depositing. The eight games we cover are on the games page.

Frequently asked questions

What does volatility mean for a slot?
How unevenly wins are spread. At low volatility small wins come often; at high volatility bigger wins come rarely. The RTP is independent of it.
Do slots count towards wagering?
Most bonus terms count slots in full, but some titles can be excluded. The contribution table decides.
What is a bonus buy?
A feature that lets you pay a multiple of the stake to go straight into the bonus round. With bonus money most terms ban it or treat it as a stake above the cap.
